The Challenges

Yak Attack

The Yak Attack is the literally, the highest mountain bike race in the world. The race consists of 8 stages in the Nepalese Himalayas covering 249 miles (400 km) and ascends 39,370 vertical feet (12,000 m). What makes this race particularly demanding is the extreme conditions; temperatures can vary from -15º C to 30º C (5º F to 86º F) and the races reaches an altitude of 17,769 feet (5,416 m)! As if that weren’t bad enough, the terrain also includes a healthy dose of sand, mud, and snow.
