Life has been pretty uneventful of late. Just the usual train, eat, and sleep. By no means am I complaining, I absolutely love it! However, that lifestyle doesn’t always make for compelling blogs, but I’ll put together what I can.

Training has been progressing very well and my recovery has been awesome. So awesome in fact, in my last few visits to SportsPlus, Dr. Kearns has asked me “Why are you here?” It’s nice to know that my body is holding up well, as both intensity and volume are being increased. Dr. Kearns is deserving of a big thanks, because if it wasn’t for his time and effort, there’s no way I’d be feeling as good as I have been.

Eating has been going really well too. Summer is always a fun time for food, because my appetite seems to drop as the temperature rises. I’ve always found it difficult to eat bigger meals in summer. Then again, I rarely eat more than 750 calories in one sitting. Neither should you, you’re body has a tough time to breaking down and making use of those calories in excess of that number.

Sleeping is another thing that becomes slightly more challenging in summer. For one, the second story in our house gets quite warm – the downside of living on an exposed hill. Second, being that I wake up around 4:30 several times a week, it’s hard to get a solid 8-hours in. I’d have to be in bed by 8:30 to accomplish that, but it’s still light outside. Yes, I have darkening shades, but I want the evening breeze to come in and cool my room. It’s quite the conundrum.

Besides that, I have a bit of a sore throat and am trying oh so diligently to get rid of it. The second Splash & Dash is tomorrow evening and I’m keeping my fingers crossed I’ll have knocked it by then.
